Favorite Books

  • The Encyclopedia of Monograms: Over 11,000 Motifs for Designers, Artists, and Crafters

  • No Angel
    by Penny Vincenzi

One of my all time favorites!  This is the first in a trilogy (all three books are fantastic!) about an English family in the publishing industry.  Please read it...you'll be hooked!

  • Daniel: Lives of Integrity, Words of Prophecy
    by Beth Moore
I did this study with my dear friend, Mary Kendall.  I learned so much from the life of Daniel - living in the world but not being of the world, to serve those less fortunate (as a result we became involved with Caritas, a program that serves the homeless of Austin) and so much more.  I love Old Testament studies!

  • Becoming a Woman of Purpose
    by Cynthia Heald

All of the studies in this series are phenomenal!

  • The Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness
    by Dave Ramsey
This book changed my marriage.  Dave Ramsey tells it like it is (one of his favorite sayings is "act your wage!"  Which I am fine with, as long as my wage includes Neiman Marcus.)  But seriously, David and I have learned so much by applying the principles in his books.  For example, we have monthly budget meetings where we add up the previous month's expenses and plan for next month's expenses.  It helps us to be more deliberate about spending our hard earned money, and to have similar priorities.  Try it!
